ICYMI: Florida Senator Annette Taddeo, Garners Unanimous Support in Committee; Passes Bill to Address Food Insecurity on College Campuses

Today, State Senator Annette Taddeo (D-Miami) released the following statement after the Hunger Free Campus Program (SB 1916) garnered unanimous support in the Agriculture Committee:
“Working with the Florida PIRG Students on this good bill has been so rewarding. Listening to these college students and their passion to make sure their peers have a safe learning environment away from fears of not knowing where their next meal will come from is something we should all be doing. As a state that prides ourselves on being a higher education leader, it’s on all of us to make sure that students don’t go hungry. I look forward to continuing to work on this initiative considering we received over 45 personal testimonies from college students across our state from multiple institutions on how much this bill is needed in Florida.”
