Miami-Dade Arts Support (MAS) Program
Deadline Monday, August 31st.

The new Miami-Dade Arts Support (MAS) Program is wholly funded by the federal CARES Act and aims to provide financial assistance to arts and cultural organizations to help them survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Apply by this Monday, August 31st. It is strongly recommended that you begin the application process immediately to allow time to resolve any technical issues you might encounter. Visit the Miami-Dade Arts Support Action Center for resources and to submit application.

Summer Arts & Science Camp for Kids (SAS-C) Grant Program

The Summer Arts & Science Camps for Kids (SAS-C) Grants Program was created as a joint initiative of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and The Children’s Trust.  The SAS-C Grants Program is funded by The Children’s Trust, a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.

The objective of the SAS-C Program is to grant funding to non-profit organizations to provide underserved children in Miami-Dade County with opportunities to attend high quality cultural arts and science summer camp programs at little or no cost.  Funding through the SAS-C Grants Program is intended to augment established, high quality programs, providing more children with the opportunity to participate in cultural arts and science summer camps.

Applicants are required to attend one of the following virtual workshops:
First Time Applicants – October 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM – RSVP
Returning Applicants – October 8, 2020 at 10:30 AM – RSVP

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS

Knight New Work 2020: Miami applications are open
Deadline September 7, 2020

The Knight New Work 2020 is a two-part open call is focused on re-imaging the performing arts in ways that echo beyond the pandemic. In the first round, 15 to 20 artists and arts organizations will each receive $10,000 to develop new performing art works in the worlds of dance, music and theater that reflect and respond to the incredible times we are living in. Along with funding, the winners will receive mentorship from established artists and be connected to their peers to advance their work.

Oolite Arts – Masks Up Miami
Pitch idea by September 8, 2020

You have up to one minute to convince Miami to wear a mask during COVID-19.
How would you do it?

Oolite Arts is giving five local filmmakers/artists $12,500 to make short Public Service Announcements, or PSA’s, to help stop the spread of COVID. PSAs welcome in English, Spanish and Creole.

Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places

Virgin Voyages, Terminal V, PortMiami – South Florida

Budget:  $995,000
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in South Florida

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County, PortMiami and Virgin Voyages request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for the new Terminal V at PortMiami. Opportunities for public art include a large-scale text-based artwork application to exterior north wall, a suspended lighting feature, integrated sculptural wall applications, and free-standing artist designed-planters for the terminal’s interior and exterior. Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in the USA

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County, PortMiami, and Virgin Voyages request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for the new Terminal V at PortMiami. The selected artist(s) will design a unique video or time-based media artwork and / or display system that will contribute to the identity of this facility and engage employees, visitors, and passers-by in unexpected and delightful ways. Artist Access (ART) Grants Program Applications Open
Deadline September 21, 2020

Funded by Miami-Dade County and offered in partnership with FUNDarte, the Artist Access Grant Program is designed to assist practicing, professional artists in any medium or discipline residing in Miami-Dade County pursue opportunities that will advance their practice and careers in demonstrable ways.

Eligible opportunities include artistic professional development and skill-building, as well as financial offset of equipment purchase and studio rental. Applications will consider how the potential, timeliness, and impact of the opportunities will forward the artist’s career.

South Florida Cultural Consortium (SFCC) Grant
Application Deadline October 19, 2020

The South Florida Cultural Consortium Grant Program offers the largest regional, government-sponsored artists’ grants in the United States, awarding $15,000 and $7,500 grants to resident visual and media artists from the counties of Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach. Since it was established in 1988, the Consortium has awarded over to $4 million in grants to over 300 artists. In addition to receiving the grant, the artists take part in an exhibition hosted and organized by a visual arts institution in one of the five counties.

SFCC Workshops
Learn how recipients are selected and how can an applicant improve his/her chances of being recommended. Attendance at a workshop is encouraged, but not required.

Summer 2020 Workshops will take place online. Artists from any county are invited to join any workshop, but for convenience workshops are also being organized by county to support specific questions from area artists.

The 2020 Census is here, and data will impact our community for the next 10 years. The U.S. Census Bureau conducts this nationwide count to determine the number of people living in the United States, and everyone in your household should be included. It provides the basis for distributing billions of dollars in federal funding for hospitals, schools, roads, public works, reapportioning Congressional seats. Due to the widespread effect of COVID-19, the dates have been shifted and residents have more time to respond. You now have through October 31 to respond online, via phone or by mail.
