Holiday in Paradise presented by FPL, and Sandi, the world’s only 35-foot-tall, 700-ton holiday sand tree

Friends and fans of HIP and Sandi can vote once per day through Monday, December 5 at 11:59 a.m.
Notably, Holiday in Paradise (HIP) was named the “Best Public Holiday Lights Display” in 2021 during its 10th season on the waterfront.
Other recent HIP news/info:
- Mayor Keith A. James announced a new element of this year’s series – Sandi’s cousin, Ferris powered by Land Rover, a Ferris wheel will be joining her on the waterfront.
- The attraction features gondolas where passengers can get a glimpse of Sandi and the entire HIP light and music show from the sky for a small fee.
- Today (Monday, November 7) Sandi’s sand started to arrive on the waterfront. 800 tons have been delivered, 700 of which will be used for Sandi. The remaining 100 tons are designated for additional sand sculptures
- Sandi and Ferris will make their debuts on Thursday, December 1 during the Clematis by Night Holiday Tree Lighting from 6 – 10 p.m.

WHY: Since her debut in 2012, Sandi has received numerous international and regional awards and accolades, including “Best New Event” and “Best Event within an Existing Festival” by the International Festivals and Events Association, “Most Innovative Project” by the Florida Festivals and Events Association and a Henry Award from VISIT FLORIDA. HIP was recognized in 2021 as the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice for “Best Public Holiday Lights Display.” Sandi has been featured in/on The Huffington Post, Thrillist, CNN, Martha Stewart, Travel + Leisure, and The Ellen Show.
