WHAT: Mayor Keith A. James, the City’s Department of Housing and Community Development and additional community partners will host the groundbreaking ceremony for the Coleman Park Renaissance project. This $19.5 million investment is comprised of 43 one-, two-, and three- bedroom apartments that will serve low- to very low- income residents whose incomes range from 22% to 70% of the area median income. The mixed-use development also includes affordable commercial space for minority-owned businesses. This project is in line with Mayor James’ “600 in 3” initiative to bring online, or make commitments for, 600 affordable housing units before the end of his first term in office.
These essential housing units will be affirmatively marketed to existing Coleman Park residents. They will also provide quality housing for the City’s workforce including teachers, nurses, municipal employees, home healthcare providers and residents on a fixed income.
WHEN: Wednesday, February 8, 4 p.m.
WHERE: Coleman Park, 1980 N Tamarind Ave.
