Celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday
All government offices are closed on Friday, July 3, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of America in 1776. This year, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our great nation.

Reduced Services Friday, July 3
- Miami-Dade Transit will operate on a reduced service schedule.
- Miami-Dade Solid Waste will not collect garbage and disposal facilities will be closed Friday, July 3. Recycling will be collected as scheduled.
Things to do in Our County
- Celebrate Independence Day at a special America 250 edition of the annual July 4th Celebration at Tropical Park.
- Bayfront Park’s 4th of July Celebration returns this year for a large-scale celebration marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.
- Miami Beach Celebrate in North Beach at Altos del Mar Park (76 St. & Collins Ave.), and dance to live music and enjoy a family zone.
- Coral Gables grounds at the Biltmore Hotel free fireworks celebration.
- Parks and outdoor locations like, Zoo Miami or Fruit & Spice Park are open. The Deering Estate is offering $8 general admission or, as part of Blue Star Museums, active duty military personnel and up to five family members receive free admission all summer.
