Appeal to City of Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board Approval of Playhouse Master Plan Concept

Appeal to City of Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board Approval of Playhouse Master Plan Concept

On Thursday, October 26, the City of Miami Commission will hear the appeal that opposes the 4 to 1 vote of the City of Miami’s Historic and Environmental Preservation Board (HEPB). The HEPB positive vote was in support of the County’s submitted master plan concept for the Coconut Grove Playhouse.

City of Miami Commission Meeting

2:00 pm

Thursday, October 26

City Hall

3500 Pan American Drive

Miami, FL 33133

The HEPB’s support of the Coconut Grove Playhouse project came after an informational presentation to them in February 2017, site visits to the Playhouse by most of the HEPB’s members, and a public hearing at their April 2017 meeting. Our submission and presentation to the HEPB were based on a thorough assessment of the Playhouse property and guided by our goal of developing a master plan that was thoughtful and respectful regarding this important historic site.

The appeal and the County’s response to the appeal can be accessed here.
