Pre-register to adopt a tree May 18

Since its inception in 2001, the Adopt-a-Tree Program has distributed more than 242,000 trees to county residents.

Our first Adopt-A-Tree event of the season will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or until trees run out Sunday, May 18 at Miami Central Senior High School, 1781 NW 95th Street, Miami, FL 33147. Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration does not guarantee tree availability but does verify eligibility.

Pre-registration for this event is now open. For the May 18 event, the planned tree selection includes: Florida Keys BlackbeadGrafted CarambolaGumbo, LimboJaboticaba, JoewoodLocustberry, Malay AppleParadise TreePigeon PlumRed MulberryRed Stopper and Soursop

Residents can get up to two free high efficiency showerheads and up to three free energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs if they bring their current showerheads and up to three incandescent bulbs.
