Draft update to Miami-Dade’s Manatee Protection Plan now available

Miami-Dade County has completed the first-ever update to its original 1995 Manatee Protection Plan. The revised draft reflects recommendations from the Manatee Protection Plan Review Committee, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The updated draft is now available. To request a version showing tracked changes, please email [email protected].

Public comments, questions and feedback will be accepted via email until July 5, 2025.

To help the community better understand the proposed updates, the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, Division of Environmental Resources Management (DERM), will host two public presentations. Each session will provide an overview of the revisions and requires advance registration.

Upcoming presentation:
Thursday, June 5, at 6 p.m.
Overtown Transit Village North (OTV)
701 NW 1st Court, 2nd Floor Training Room
